Vista’s Military Memorial Wall was constructed and is maintained by the Rotary Club of Vista in partnership with the City of Vista and the County of San Diego. It was dedicated on Memorial Day, 2015. The 60-foot-long black granite wall is set into the hillside along Rotary Lane at the east end of Vista’s historic Main Street District. It honors all branches of the military and their members who serve and protect our freedoms - past, present, and future.
In 2021 our club offered individuals and families in North County the opportunity to recognize the military service of friends and family members with engraved park benches and paver bricks. The opportunity for such remembrance remains open for those who would like to memorialize the selfless service of loved ones.

The Rotary Club of Vista built the Vista “Military Wall” in 2015 through generous donations from San Diego County ($20,000) and private donors who contributed another $45,000. Rotary is currently in Phase ll of the Military Wall and refers to the expansion. The “Wall” is a beautiful black granite tribute approximately 60′ long x 5′ high, located along Rotary Lane on Vista Village Drive immediately east of Main St. adjacent to the sports field of the Magnet school (former Lincoln Middle School). The City of Vista participates in maintaining the little landscaping presently adjacent to the school. However, over 100 yards remain without any landscaping or improvements. Rotary Club of Vista is planning to rectify this in our current expansion program anticipated to be completed by late spring 2022. Our contractor is Sun Country Builders. |
